Hip-Hop Program

This program gives dancers the opportunity to build strong Hip-Hop foundations, improve musicality, coordination, body control, flexibility, choreography skills, and stage confidence in a supportive and positive environment.

Students train 1–2 times per week, depending on the group, and participate in studio performances throughout the year.

All Hip-Hop Program students will have the opportunity to perform at least twice per season:

- Winter Performance
- Summer Recital

Additional studio and community performance opportunities may also be offered during the year.

Description

Our Pre-Hip-Hop class is a fun and structured introduction to dance for our youngest students.

Children begin developing rhythm, coordination, body awareness, and confidence while learning how to move to music and participate in a group class.

Training includes:

  • basic hip-hop movements and grooves;

  • rhythm and musicality;

  • coordination and balance;

  • movement games;

  • body awareness;

  • simple stretching and flexibility;

  • short choreography combinations;

  • basic formations and spacing;

  • listening and following directions;

  • confidence and self-expression;

  • age-appropriate performance skills.

The goal is to help young dancers become comfortable in the studio, develop a strong sense of rhythm, and build the foundation needed for future Hip-Hop training.

Students also begin learning how to perform as part of a group and participate in age-appropriate studio performances.

Description

Weekend Hip-Hop is designed for students who want to dance and perform but can only commit to one class per week.

The class provides a fun and structured hip-hop experience while still giving students clear goals and opportunities to perform.

Training includes:

  • hip-hop foundations;

  • rhythm and musicality;

  • coordination;

  • body control;

  • choreography;

  • formations and spacing;

  • stretching;

  • performance skills;

  • confidence;

  • teamwork.

Because this group meets once per week, the training pace is more recreational and accessible for students with busy schedules or other activities.

Weekend Hip-Hop students will still participate in our studio performances, including the Winter Performance and Summer Recital.
